Store Clerk Wins $10,000 Lottery | Lottery Round-Up

Denise Hill, an avid lottery player has recently won $10,000. Although she was only one of 72 other winners within her winning tier, she was admittedly in a state of disbelief. According to the 56-year-old, she was working in the store when she discovered that she had won. However, Hill still could not believe what she was seeing and even asked for a second opinion.

“I was by myself in the store and I looked at it and I looked at it again and I’m like, ‘No, that can’t be true,’” Denise said. She yelled out for her manager to double check her win. “The next thing I know the door opened up and three of them came running over."

The store seemed to be completely focused on her win as her manager and co-worker rushed up to offer their congratulations. Even the store's customers got into the act. Hill says that they often ask her to rub their lottery ticket in the hope that some of her good fortunes might spill over onto their ticket.

Hill has no grand desires to splurge. She and her husband, Kevin, plan to spend their winnings to pay bills and keep a portion aside for their children.

In other news, one lucky ticket holder became an instant millionaire recently in the Mega Millions lottery. Although the identity of the winner remains a mystery, the ticket is understood to have been purchased in Denver at D & J Liquors.

Whoever the winner may be, he or she managed to correctly choose five of the necessary six lottery numbers, earning the ticket holder a cool $1 million prize. The winner has 180 days to come forward, according to the lottery officals. The Colorado Lottery, Kelly Tobor, says that it is not uncommon for a winner to be unaware of their luck. "The winner probably doesn't even know yet. A lot of people don't check their tickets right away, so they probably don't have a clue that they are a millionaire," says Kelly.
